Gary Manning, Ph.D.
Professor of New Testament, Talbot School of Theology

Welcome to Greek! We will be spending a lot of time together this semester, so you might want to know a little about me.

I love teaching in the New Testament department at Talbot, especially Greek. My research and writing focus on the Gospels, especially John; the use of the Old Testament in the New Testament; and narrative approaches to interpretation. Here is my Talbot bio and my posts on the Talbot blog (I also have my own blog Links to an external site., but I only add to it occasionally).

I enjoy serving in my church, where I have opportunities to teach, preach, and produce small group curriculum. In the past, I have helped plant a church and have served as an elder and associate pastor.

My wife and I have been very happily married for 25 years. We met in second-grade Sunday School in our home church in Kailua, Hawaii.

We have ten children (six biological, four adopted). They range in age from 6 to 23. Yes, we are crazy.
